Yes from the age of 16yrs I won a couple of medals at Bisley. Now at the wrong side of 60 I have a SSG 69 7.62mm Manlicher with a Nightforce scope.
A Browning .223 A Bolt with a Bushnell scope and a Converted Lee Enfield Mk 1V by Fultons of Bisley firing 7.62mm with a Edgar Bros scope. Shot in the PUK championship the year before last at Bisley.Missed out this year due to cancer op but will compete this year again,if my good luck holds out.All rifles zeroed in at 100yds and ready to put at least 3 rnds in a 3" grouping at 600yds.
Must confess I find today's shooting a bit of a cheat. Telescopic scopes and a bipod Pah. In my youth iron vernier sights,a two point sling and a trusty .303 service rifle achieved a more satisfying result especially when the old mince pies were a bit sharper.

I remember driving the local CID officer to a certain Property Officer's address in the T Division district after he was spotted on hidden CCTV for thieving in the nick. Jock somebody or other.
Nice thought grasscarp but I fear it would never take off the ground.Us dedicated sensible shooters are regarded as homicidal maniacs who are hell bent on replicating Hungerford and Dunblane. The government do not show much sympathy for our sport either. Kneejerk reaction dictates that we hand in our handguns. Now only the bad guys can possess them with impunity on the streets of London it seems.Still hope, very faint albeit,is on the horizon. Rumour was heard in Shooting circles that Mr Farage would reintroduce the legal possession of handguns but I will be kicking up daisies when and if that day comes.

Wasn't it great we had Imber court range on our doorsteps.Ihurled many a piece of lead down that range with my 9mm Glock and Model 13 S&W .357 plus the .22 BSA Century that I bought on behalf of my 15yr old son. Mounted branch didn't like us much though. Said it scared the gee gees and I always thought they were trained to accept loud bangs at demos etc.
