Sorry to go off topic, but in case the OP is looking in or others are trying to solve these, I wondered whether 2 could be ALDERSHOT (although that would need the clue to say 'fired'). I'm struggling to think of a suitable synonym for FIRE that could end a place name- but I suppose it depends on how rigourous the clue setter has been and the style of the other questions.

I took using a registered company name as a username to be advertising, and to be fair when *******books were doing the same thing 1½-2 years ago, you (if you were the Ed. at the time, I've heard there's been a change) agreed with me.

I am a 72 year old lady who was posting her first question. The name ramtinshelties is a name I used when I used to breed and show dogs. I can easily remember it. I no longer own any dogs. I was very upset by the response and felt that it could have been dealt with in a much more friendly way. I did not intend to break any rules but will change my username if it upsets anybody

Ramtin is just an anagram of my surname which is Martin so quite innocent and the dogs I owned were shelties
