Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me some advise or point me in the right direction. I am interested in pursuiing a career in counselling, but am 30 and have a high school only education (Grades A-C), and wondered if anyone can point me in the right direction of where to start??

I am keen to investigate all areas that may be open to me (obviously I do not have any degrees as such, so any advise would be greatly appreciated).

It seems there is no minimum qualification. This site seems full of information.

Yes I would say that academic qualifications would not be the prime requirement, although you may need to go on courses to achieve accreditation etc. It really depends on the type of counselling you are aiming for, addiciton, victim support, career etc etc. More here:

Thanks for the info, ive now found details on the Counselling Concepts courses that I need to do before I can go for a Diploma in counselling ! Hopefully I can get a place on one soon :)
