Thunderstorm !

I and the Yorkshire Wolfhound were woken last night by a tremendous thunderstorm ! In my groggy state of mind, I thought that there had been a series of explosions in the large factory in the valley. It was strange....very loud rumbles of thunder, which went on for ages but no lightning or rain.

Did anybody else have the same ? I live in South Wales.

yes in hampshire ,lightening and really booming thunder .

Happen, these are snow showers rather than snowy fronts, all a thunderstorm is a huge huge shower generally with a lot of precipitation. While in the cloud it generates the static charges that cause the lightning.

Please don't confuse it with thundersnow, it's a completely different phenomenon

One roll of thunder but no lightning here. Just lots and lots and lots of rain...
