Museum Of Technology
5 Answers
I have some items still with their original boxes that I cannot bring myself to throw away. Does anyone collect or know of a museum that might want a couple of Archos Jukebox 6000s? This was the first or second MP3 player ever made. I can't get either to work anymore but a tech savvy individual may know how to get it to power up and play music again. Comes with the original installation disc/headphones/instructions. No one on eBay wants them and I can't think who would want them. Is there a museum anywhere that would collect ancient technology like these? They are really bulky - must weigh half a lb each! If I can't give them away I shall just have to bin them. Many thanks.

Given the close links between Manchester and computer development, they may wish to add your well-preserved original to their collections: http:// www.mos i.org.u k/
The Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester is, of course, part of the Science Museum in London, which also hosts galleries of 20th century technology:
