Opening .vcf Files ....... Problem ......

I've backed up my phone contacts to my laptop and it's saved the file as a .vcf file.
It would be nice to open the file and scroll through all of the phone numbers, just to check, etc .... and make sure everything is saved ok.
I have 2 programmes that will open the file; either Microsoft Office Outlook, or Windows Contacts.
If I open the file using Outlook, it shows the first contact, but I can't find any way to scroll to the next contact. If I close the contact, that's it ... nothing else shows up.
If I open the file using Windows contacts, it opens the first contact, then when I close the contact, it opens the next contact .... I close that, then the next contact pops up .... etc. I can't scroll to any particular contact .... and the only way I can close the programme is by using task manager.
Anyone know of any suitable programmes that I can use to open this .vcf file please ????

Cheers - it's not ideal, but it's better than before.
I now open it with notepad, but all of the contacts are in a big messy list .... ideally I'd like to see an index of some sort and be able to open each contact individually if needed .... otherwise it'll have to stay as it is (
