10 Year Olds Given Contraceptive Implants
This news is very sad and a poor reflection on England. Three ten year old girls have been given the implants over the last five years, not a huge number, but I wonder what effect this will have on their long term health, never mind the emotional issues of having sex at such a young age.

It is most probable that they are experiencing heavy periods. These can be quite frustrating and troublesome. (I used other words a few weeks back).
Young girls have been prescribed the Pill for many reasons and for many years. This is the Daily Mail being ........ can't think of one word to describe them. Not one that would get past the filter anyway.

Aged 14, my Mum finally took me to see the Dr. after I had collapsed - yet again - at school. He prescribed these pills. I did not know it but they were first generation contraceptives. Wonderful difference. I stopped losing 2 or 3 days a month schooling and shivering and crying in bed with a hot-water bottle clutched to my middle. So they can be prescribed for lots of conditions.
On the other hand, I once saw contraceptive pills in a 14-yr-old's pencil case at school. I went to see her year head, who told me that they were all pleased that she was now taking them and that she was 'on the game', quite happy about it and would not stop. Their current campaign was to get her to carry condoms.
So, the point is that there is not enough information and these things can be quite complex!

I get slammed mercilessly for speaking out against the DM but this particular trick they play is despicable IMO.
They KNOW their readers are of a certain type (angry and fed up) and most likely also of a sufficiently limited attention span for them to apply this trick.
So after having their blood satisfactorily boiled the reader will move on to the next story, again without reading to the end (where the important bit is) ..and so on.

If people are suffering, doctors medicate to either cure the ailment or to alleviate the symptoms. That’s it really. As for these children being put at risk of ‘horrendous abuse’, by whom? Potentially depraved parents or potentially depraved members of the medical profession who are aware of the situation? Who else would know? Fuss over nothing.
