Hi, when i received the court order the judge told me I was now a parent as well as the grandmother will I have to apply again to court for permission to get a passport . Thanks for advice
If they haven't given it to you automatically then you'll have to apply for it.

Who told you you couldn't sign?

Thanks for your replys. I rang passport office just to check some details told them I had a residency order he told me to send it with a letter telling them of the changes , so I thought fine i got a bit stuck with mothers details so rang them again spoke to someone a different person she told me I couldn't sign form so now dont know who is right .to get the answer from a solicitor will cost £120 just to see them. Any one else had a problem like ? Thanks .
Your best bet might be to do it through the post office. They charge about £8 but they'll know exactly what forms etc you'll need to produce.

You need to refer the Passport Office to Section 12(2) of the Children Act 1989:
"Where the court makes a residence order in favour of any person who is not the parent or guardian of the child concerned that person shall have parental responsibility for the child while the residence order remains in force".
