My edition is 2003 and ko is in there.

Don't be too hasty Bozzer - I think you'll find it in there under the singular form 'ko' (plural 'kos') - and at least your edition probably has IMPAVID in it, unlike the 2014 version...

I need a new one simply because the backs have come off due to excessive use, but I have seen some criticism of the latest edition.

It's fine, except that when the editor said to his team, "let's get rid of those 'star' words [highlighted as being of special interest, supposedly] from the 12th edition", they took him at his word...all completely gone.

I don't seem to have any 'star' words in mine. I do not know which edition the 2003 one is.

8th edition - 1993
9th edition - 1998
9th edition (new) - 2003
10th edition - 2006
11th edition - 2008 (nice dictionary, mine is very well thumbed)
12th edition - 2011 (with the star words and the 'Word Lover's Miscellany' stuck in the middle of the L's, mine is pretty much 'as new')
13th edition - 2014 (back to normal, but the star words have vanished...)

Ko is indeed there! Never thought about a plural! I have only just signed up to answer bank. Is this volume of interchange a feature? I never realised it was so social. Thanks everyone.
