Will I be able to simply replace my 19" Dell E196FP monitor with a Dell U2412M 24" IPS? Will there be any complications and should it just work straight from the box. I just fancy a larger, crisper monitor to edit my piccies on!
Many thanks-

Well! it looks as if I've been beaten by the system; apparently the modifications, the cost, the inconvenience, and eventually the results would not do justice to the monitor of these specs. So I'm going to upgrade the whole system( I got this lot in March 2006) but sticking with Windows7 - cos I like it!
I shall be asking for advice later, when I get and try to install the new system correctly. Cheers all.
I've just done this with my PC. Gone from a 19" Dell to a 24" Acer. No problems at all. Just connected the VGA cable and away it went. Only problem I had was finding the monitor on/off switch at the bottom right hand corner.
