A lot of people who are weight training find nuts in the recipes helpful as it will increase the protein value of the drink along with any protein powder they add - however, if you are not currently following a regular exercise regime, probably best to avoid the nuts for now - They do contain healthy fats and have lots of good vitamins & minerals, however it's easy to over-eat nuts as soon as you start seeing them as a 'healthy' food and a small portion size gradually increases over time and causes a weight loss stall.
Start off easy - use fresh fruits and milk to create simple smoothies until you know what you like - a favourite is strawberry (a handful), kiwi (2-3) and banana (1 of, sliced) with milk (1 pint).
Or if you don't have a sweet tooth, try making a fresh soup (use cold water in the nutri-bullet, then heat through after if you want it hot).
