Why do I often feel a bit weak and shakey when I appear to be "coming down with something"? Sometimes the "something" materialises...sometimes I shake it off. Anyone else experience this?
It's how I'm feeling today, and has been building up since Saturday.

Do you have any allergies, pasta? I feel like that after accidentally eating something i shouldn't.
You could try echinacea. I don't believe in it but my wife and I visited my brother and mother for a week. They knew we had a cold so both of them took this and didn't catch anything. As I said I don't believe in it but that was enough to make me think there could be something in it.

@AlwaysConfused...not that I know of,though I'd not thought of that as an explanation.
@Gavmacp...I know people who swear by it,but I've always been put off by the price. And I think of it when I'm already in the grip of sneezing and snuffling.
As I have said don't really believe in it. Sold in Superdrug and doesn't appear to expensive! Maybe get it before you need it.
I have something similar - I just feel 'wrong' - my skin is slightly over-sensitive, I feel a bit cold/hot/cold, muzzy headed and I know that something is developing.

Co-codamol (preferably the effervescent ones dissolved in a glass of warm fruit squash) sometimes helps - but not always.
It is the first stage of 5 stages in the fight against an invader.
Your blood vessels open, more blood is sent to the affected area and your white cell start to "argue " with the invader.Tempers rise and so does your temperature making you feel hot and this shakes the body into regulating this temperature rise. You sweat, shake, your skin pales and you feel drawn and "under the weather."

You then either win the battle, OR if the white cells lose the fight, then you go on to the second phase.

Normally you win the battle.
I too, am feeling like this, hot/cold/hot. My head feels heavy and I'm falling asleep as soon as I sit down. I feel I'm past the 1st stage. Very 'flulike.

@Sqad...thanks for that explanation. If I'm sneezing my head off by bedtime or tomorrow morning,I'll know I've lost. So far,no fever. No I need to decide whether to wash my hair tonight...it makes me feel colder...or wait.
Great description sqad, I really like that battle scenario. From the state of people at work today, there are quite a lot of us with warring cells at the moment....
