Bt Sport On Tv

I'm a BT customer and watch BT sport via the app on my ipad or via my laptop.

What do I need to do to watch it on the TV?

If you have it on your iPad and laptop and your bt vision box is connected to your wifi router/broadband just change channels to 507 & 508.

Yes, we watch on TV on channels 507 and 508 - doing it now that the moment, half time in the rugby.

I don't have a BT vision box. Where can I buy one of those? And what is it exactly ? As it happens I could do with a new recording device as my Hitachi recorder is forever freezing on us.

If your broadband provider is BT you can get a vision box that lets you watch BT sport via your router. This box is also a recorder. If you have a Sky package or Virgin media package you need to change channels to Bt sport not sure of the channel numbers though.

Thanks sycamore, you have helped me before when i was having trouble with my ipad. I am a BT broadband customer and have no other sky packages or anything. So.... I go online and order a BT vision box. Question..
Does that require a monthly fee?
Do I need a cable from my router or will it pick up the wifi?

Oh and another question, when You record and play on the vision box, does it rely on an internet connection or does it only go over the intenet when your'e watching a BT channel?

Maydup, go to your online account with BT and click the TV tab. That will tell you what you need to do (it's what we did). The TVbundle varies from time to time so I don't want to give you wrong info about costs etc. We get it all in one bundle- TV, phone, interweb.

I have a cable from my router to my vision box that sits below the TV & the cable is buried under the carpet. The signal for the BT Channels is through your router so you are not on the net as such just linked somehow (!!!). You need your router turned on all the time your TV is recording. It is very easy to use IMO. Just find the channel on your TV guide and press record once or series. I use it for recording series mostly so I don't miss one. But as Boxie says they are always offering deals that frequently change.

I think I'm getting it! I still get very lost on the website - it seems OK if you are a new customer, but all I want is a vision box and all I Can find are a selectionof very complicated packages. I would try phoning them if I thought we'd understand each other.

My other concern is relying on our rather rural internet connection to record stuff when I can do that via the aerial at the moment.

You will need a minimum broadband speed of 2 megs although ours works ok at 1.8. We are in a very rural area.

Mine says that I currently get 2mb but that I cannot sign up for BT Infinity so no fibre optic here.

Choice - go for the basic £5 per month option which may or may not give me BT sport on the TV (quoting the website) but does allow me to watch, record and see catch up on the Tv

Or go out and buy a new recorder and carry on watching BT sport in the laptop.

Have you got a Sky box, just realised my husband is watching BT sport from the Sky Box, no charge from Sky.

I think (maybe wrong) but if you are rural and get BT sport via your ipad you will get it on your TV as it comes out of the same box so to speak. You will still need your aerial plugged in also. As when the broadband signal fails as it does for me sometimes especially if it is windy you will still be able to watch TV through your normal aerial on the roof. I have just got basic broadband as no fibre optic.

So I decided to give the BT TV a go and got right to the final page only to be told my broadband connection is too slow for it.

BT only allow you free sports via the internet so your ipad and computer are ok but if you want to watch it on the TV then a subscription is charged and you will need the BT box, have you tried to connect the laptop to the TV with a cable and watch it that way ?

No frerret but I'd like to try. Which cable do I need and what would the output on the TV be called?

if you have a hdmi output on your laptop then thats the lead you need, if not then you can get a small hdmi to large one and use that, have a look at you laptop output, change the source on the tv to hdmi and press the tv button or similar on your laptop.
