agree with Postdog. Much better to have no storm when one was expected than to have a storm that wasn't. That's what I'd want my mayor to do.

Don't see why the Mayor should be embarrassed, he was only relaying what he had been told by the Meteorologists (people who predict weather), they were the ones who got it wrong.

my friend has sent me pictures that show snow fall against his back door that is a good couple of feet deep.

Far better that people are safe - as the cold is worse over there too.....and I don't think all that snow has arrived yet.

The guy was bang on doing what he did, its what warning systems are for. As it happens the storm didn't develop as much as was forecast and the effects were significantly less than anticipated. The core of the snow belt drifted further inland meaning the north east states got hammered rather than New York city. Boston had over two feet of snow.... Not embarrassing for him, but the Daily Hail should be slammed for publishing such a ridiculous story... mid you for a newspaper that uses the cretins they use for weather stories would we expect anything less
