Please don't think that I am mad. Several times a week during the night, I find that I am out of bed, sleeping I think! until I realise then wake up. I found myself standing in my bedroom for a while until I saw the light on the phone and realised where I was. there are sometimes people in my room, and they go out of the window which turns into a patio door. They then stand outside. There is no patio door because I sleep upstairs. Once I thought I was in a pub. It just goes on and on until I realise where I am. Can anyone give any advice on this as I sometimes feel a bit scared. I am on lots of medication by the way. Thanks for any help or info.

Not surprised that you're frightened, go see your GP as some medication will do that to you.good luck
Can only echo Wired's advice.
Go to your GP.
It's almost certainly medication related.
You are not going mad.
Get your meds reviewed, you're not mad, I'd be afraid too - especially as you 'dream' people are walking out a patio door in your room, I'd be afraid you'd try follow them sometime and you're in a two storey. Have a chat with your gp as soon as you can get an appointment. I've not exactly given you any info, but wish you well and hope you get a good peaceful nights sleep soon

Thanks to you for the advice.. Much appreciated. I will make an appointment to see my GP this week xx
Good on you... remember, it's your meds so don't be scared, bring a friend or relative with you if you feel you need someone with you - wishing you all the best :)
Just to add.....don't stop any of your meds until you've seen the GP....try not to be so afraid of the experiences.
Was not totally clear if you were describing sleep walking or dreaming. I assuming the latter. In which case we all dream. If yours are vivid and memorable then it may well be related to the meds. Can't hurt to ask your GP for advise.
time to see your GP I think bobbie

it could also be related to the reasons why you are on the medication

I had this for a few months when I returned from abroad and was looking for a job - clearly stress related. I thought it was just sleep-walking to be honest. [ and it did go ]

Thanks for the further replies. I found them helpful. I have an appointment with the dr next week! It could be stress related. As mentioned, or medications. I believe that I am sleeping when this happens! but it wake up I think and whatever I see to see has gone. I don't walk around the house, but remain in my room.

Sorry small typo. ... See to see
I sleep walk and talk. My partner resorted to locking the doors and hiding the keys after he found me in the street in the middle of the night. I was fast asleep but talking to people that only I could see. It's so real that I think I'm awake.
bobbie22: What medication are you on if you don't mind me asking? I also suffer from the same thing but have never addressed it.
ummmm: You weren't pretending to be asleep and hoping you'd get to the pub (the one I went to :D) without ginge knowing were you?
Lol...no...this was about 3am. If the people in my dreams weren't from TV programmes I don't think it would be easy to convince me it wasn't real.
I used to have times when I would "wake up" and usually think I was either somewhere I wasn't meant to be and be trying to get out of a place I wasn't in, or that I'd not done something, a few times (that I know of) I did actually go to sort it, thankfully within the house, I remember my Dad finding me once and asking what I was doing randomly standing in the kitchen in the middle of the night. After a while I would realise/properly wake up though. I used to have some very nasty vivid dreams too, some which were more "real" I would have to remind myself certain things hadn't actually happened when I woke up.

This was before I was on medication though, considering how much I'm on now. I think maybe stress related. I also had bad bouts of insomnia and didn't have much of a routine etc...

I'm very strict about bed routine now, give myself time to relax when my body knows it's getting to bed time, keep similar hours, have no TV/eating in bedroom, I don't read in bed, I have a routine of locking things up, taking meds...in the same order, once I'm properly awake in the morning I get up and out of bed, even if just to go lie on the sofa. Febreze do a nice sleep scented spray which I find quite relaxing.

However, I'm also on medication which helps me sleep (with pain and such) and I am not such a light sleeper now which helps and I really need my sleep and get very tired so lots changed as well as my routines.

I find getting too hot can make give me horrible dreams and wake me up so try to plan for that.
Sorry to infiltrate your thread bobbie22. Ummmm, check FaceBook :) xxx

Medication for diabetes, blood pressure, beta blockers. Etc
bobbie22: The etc could mean anything :)

I can't see the drugs you've mentioned causing you the problems you are having. The mind works in mysterious ways though.

We will see what the doctor thinks because I don't have a clue.
My talking/walking tends to be when I'm over tired.

I've even fallen down the stairs in my sleep. That woke me up!
