I know, I know; you're getting tired of hearing about me and clocks; however, a friend and i are going to drive about 50 miles tomorrow to look at some. Is there one here that you would like me to send you? http://i61.tinypic.com/348hwsg.jpg

"You might know that an Aussie would like a clock with a coup'la Sheilas on it:)"
"Put yer specs on old mate, not the one in the corner the one to the right of it."
"Oh! The carriage clock. I'll check it out."

Your memory is worse than mine, (not going to mention wobbly pops now).
I need a new interest, tried lots of hobbies over the years, who knows?

Now i know what you meant! I have to tell you that when we got there, there were so many things to look at I completely forgot about the one you were interested in...Sorry:)
No worries Stuey, Keep posting about clocks coz you have me interested.

I've restored/refurbished lots of old bits furniture, many metal working projects too. Old vehicle restoration, but I've decided I need a change.
Had enough of the above.
Hmmm clocks.

Start off with a simple mechanical (wind up) clock that just tells the time and doesn't strike or chime the hours etc. Make sure it's a pendulum regulated movement and not a balance wheel one. Remove the hands and take the movement out and stare at it for a while to get a feeling for it. If you want to go any further, let me know and maybe I can "talk" you through it. BEWARE of the mainspring before you do anything!
You have me interested Stuey.
't will be a while before I take the big step, (if ever)
Don't worry, the last thing anyone should do is disconnect a spring.
How would one get it's tension correct?

Off to work now.
Thanks.
