Cancelling Programs And Direct Debits.

I joined a program called 'Picturetrail.com' in 2003 with an annual charge of $19.95 this allowed me to put some of my personal photos on the internet. This I did for a few years they charged me for the years 2004 & 2005 since 2005 I have tried to cancel the program and the direct debit. Now all of a sudden they have charged me the $19.95 in 2015. Can anyone inform me of how to cancel this account/program as I Email them at '[email protected]' and have done many times over the years as that was the confirmation address in their Email at joining in 2005 etc.
Any help out there please?

Robin - I'm not sure if you can do this in the US, but here in the UK - if you do not want a direct debit to continue, you can cancel it at your bank and they will no longer send the money their way.
Is there any type of Trading Standards over there that could advise you?
Do you have a copy of a contract that you could check the cancellation policy on?
Could you find out the postal or Holdings address of the company through your bank records to write them a formal cancellation letter rather than just via emails?
Any paper communication/ info from them at all that you can use to telephone them direct?

Have you tried that method?

I suspect that your payments might be by 'continuous payment authority' rather than by direct debit. If so (in the UK at least, and contrary to a great deal of misinformation on the subject) you can insist that your bank (or card issuer) ceases making the payments:

Thank you both for your advice 'Peaspeculiais and Buenchico' but this problem has existed for some time and I cannot get an answer direct from Picturetrail. The course to resolve this matter I am following your advice.
I am born and brought up in England and answering a letter these days should be very simple for these large program suppliers, it is good manners to say the least, or used to be the case. By the way HSBC informed me that they cannot stop the payments ,so I will follow that up. Watch this space !

Of course they can stop the payments, at least you can. Simply cancel your card and request a replacement. I have had to do that three times in the past two years after having been conned by internet sites. The bank has also refunded the money.
