Using Cola As Lavatory Cleaner

I understand you can use cola to clean the lavatory but will diet cola do the trick?
I'm thinking of using the very cheap supermarket own brand stuff
I can't really post this in the food and drink section

Coca-cola, Steradent, white vinegar.....are people too poor/ mean/ daft to buy the proper stuff that I mentioned earlier? £1 bottle lasts for months!

Living in Norfolk we have bad limescale. Found morrisons own brand to be the best.

gingejbee: It's only 17p and if you're feeling dehydrated whilst sat on the lav, you can have a swig - now you can't do that with bleach can you!

The reason I thought I would use cola was because I thought it was the best way to remove limescale. I understood that bleach only 'bleached' it and would not remove it

Interesting thought. But there are cleaners that claim to sort out limescale that you could use on your slimline toilet. I think half the problem is getting the product to stick to the sides on the limescale and not run off into the bowl.

It strips the enamel of ones teeth so I assume it'll also blast through gunge in a loo too.
