As promised my friend...

https://xeronema.wordpress.com/

I'm questioning whether or not it's actually a Grandfather clock instead of a Grandmother clock. I'm 99% sure it's a Grandmother clock. Let me know what you think :)

This is open for others to comment and give any suggestions regarding why it keeps stopping at 3 o'clock. It's never been over wound - not to my knowledge anyway.

Stuey: I've just looked at your posting on NAWCC, thank you. The weight doesn't drop in 12 hours. It takes 7-8 days but the clock just stops after 12 hours - or at least it did. It's been running since I started this post, I know we have a presence in this house - maybe he will allow it to run without stopping it :)

Either way, we'd like to know more about it and going on the information given already on the website, I'm pretty impressed! Dated around the 1700's :)
Dizmo, I just checked my post also. Wow, There's some good information there. Once I've had me tea and a fag and woken up, I'll thank the guys for their research. It's good that you found your way to the site so that I don't have to post all the information on here...Take care of that clock of yours and get it looked after by a professional.

Stuey: When someone like you offers to help people like me I think it's only right to make the effort!

I'm waiting for a call back from a horologist in Sheffield :) I'm going to have it cleaned and oiled.
Let me know what happens, Dizmo.

Stuey: I've been quoted £475 (ball park) to have it cleaned and oiled.
Like anything else, you should shop around. But it's not "cheap" to get an old long case clock repaired. Go to the British Horological Society site, navigate around it to find qualified repair people in your area, and check them out.
British Horological Institute, not Society.

Stuey: Thank you, that quote wasn't for repair but purely to clean and oil. They give a 1 year warranty though. I will look on the BHI site.
