Really slow pc...

is there any online scan or downloadable free software that will tell me what is running in the background on my PC? My pc has recently really slowed down.

I use AVG, Adaware CCleaner to keep my machine clean and virus free, and cant think of any software recently installed that may drain the PC.

Please help, as it used to be so fast!

i mean something running invisibly. Done Task Manager, nothing there. But there has to be something slowing my machine so drastically

To see what starts up in your machine when you boot it.

Start>run > type msconfig

go to the startup tab and you can see there which programs run in the back ground. Google each entry to see if you can disable it or not.

Ctrl+Alt +Del will tell you everything that is running including major needed windows files. msconfig will only tell you the programs which have been installed by the user..

WinPatrol is a free and very small download that is marketed as task manager on steroids!
I've just tried it today after reading an old post from another aber.
