8 Year Old Chocolate Bar Turned To Powder!!

The other day a pulled out my fridge freezer - to find large chocolate bar, (green & blacks) it had been opened and about a 3rd gone - it was still in the paper wrapper, and folded up and dated about 8 years ago .. and it is pure dust!

i expected it to not be in great condition obviously, but pure powder?

How has this happened?

Any ideas?

If it was down the back of your freezer it will have been near the evaporators. They get warm and what's happened is that your chocolate has been in a slow cooker for years and is now desiccated.

it wasn't down the back it was underneath so wouldn't have got any heat though ...
