Go back to lots of positive reinforcements when he gets it right. Kill him with praise. Use stickers, a chart, praise, cuddles, tell dad, phone gran, put a ball down the loo (or rubber duck) for him to aim at (a wee only).
Honestly forget aout number 2 son just for now. If he doesn't start to be trained for another 12 months thats not unusual. I waited till my lad was 3.5 just because I knew I wouldn't be good with the accidents. He still has a potty available now (he's 4 and a bit) just in case he's busy playing and the bathroom is too far. Your eldest is getting lots of attention from you "do you need to go" etc.. give him loads for doing the right thing. Number 2 son will see what fun it is and will tell you when he's ready to be trained. I always think that it really doesn't matter when they meet these milestones - very few kids go to school in pads. Good luck and congratulations on son number 3. I just hope you have got lots of support. :-)
hello there fellow aussie mum , i have a daughter who has just turned 5 , and i had the same trouble with her as well fully toilet trained at 2 , then within a year she was constantly peeing all over the place , no matter how hard i tried to get her to go to the toilet it wasnt happening , by then i was getting really frustrated so i went to see my doctor who advised me that this is a common problem with children of this age and he said in the begining the toilet is a novelty something new and different for them to use , i thought ok i understand but how do i correct the situation and make her use the bathroom again , he said be patient in time she will just use it again , but he told me not to get impatient with her as this can make the process alot longer , really my doctor didnt give me any pleasing news to take home with me , but as the weeks / months passed i noticed that whatever activity my daughter was doing whether it be watching a movie , drawing , playing with her toys , i found she got so engrossed in whatever she was doing she just completly forgot about going to the toilet , i remember talking to her on numerous occassions and i was completly ignored , i know its hard to handle while its happening just stay cool and know that this will pass in time as your child gets older and their brain matures and they are realising hey my brains telling me to go to the loo ,
he will go
i found in my situation putting pressure on them makes it worse and may take alot longer
you will find one day he will just get up go to the bathroom on his own .
what worked well with me to was that i had my daughter in day care from 2 years old and she was watching all the other kids go to the bathroom .
goodluck aussie mum and all the best with your new bub on the way and your other two children
