It allows you to choose easily the programmes you want to run automatically on start up.
Best of all - if you disable the wrong thing it is very easy to put right.

For the newbies that does seem like a neat little program..
Anyone who doesn't wish to install yet another program to their pc might consider the following..
Start > Run > msconfig
A box should pop up with some information about your boot sequence, click the tab entitled 'Startup' and look at the list.. uncheck anything you dont want to run at startup.. this looks both in your registry Keys (HKCU & HKLM) and in the Startup section of your Start Menu..
The prompt afterwords will tell you to restart, this isnt nessecarry however.. its worth noting that if you do (or when you eventually restart) the computer will tell you that changes have been made via MSCONFIG.. you can safley ignore this box and continue as normal.
A good program for cleaning your computer of all nasties is 'HijackIt.exe' available from numerous places.. just google it..
