100 Year Quiz

this is my last answer needed and seems to be confusion about answer - can anyone help - what was still orbiting in 2013 since 1953 (have tried google and just can't seem to find answer)

If the date were wrong and it is 1963 instead of 1953 the answer would be Telstar 2. As the first satellite was not launched until 1957 I am assuming the compiler has made a mistake.

As Jackdaw33 says, it's probably a typo from the quiz-setter but it might just refer to the Black Knight satellite which was (allegedly) identified as orbiting the Earth in 1953, and was (allegedly) continuing to do so when NASA (allegedly) destroyed the records of its existence in 2013 ;-)

It all depends upon how much you (and/or the quiz-setter) believe in UFOs!
