Stuck on a couple.
Both answers are related to creatures in some way.
The B of the ABC club sounds like an "early" warning system (7,9.)
Who was Sarabandos friend? (7)
Thanks for any help.

The first is Richard Cockerill, the Leicester hooker of the 1990s when the Tigers wore letters instead of numbers on their shirts. The second is I think Bragoon ,the squirrel friend of Sarobando in Brian Jacques' 'Loamhedge'.

all i can think of is ? cockerels
i've looked everywhere for sarabandos .well done the Frogman :-)
yes that's impressive Frogman ;-) Although it might have helped the rest of us if sarobando had been spelt correctly.
bragoon is an otter friend of sarabandos the squirrel
Thank God someone's found both at last!
And I was so close...lol
lol coffee time x
:)
...I wish I could say that I knew all about Sarabando and Bragoon but Mr Toad and Jeremy Fisher were more my thing...

The spelling Sarabando is right (my error) - he's known as Saro for short (my excuse).
I'm not so sure. If you google sarabando you get nothing except linkedin and FB references to unknown people. If you google sarobando your answer comes up straightaway.

Hmm, looking at 'Loamhedge' on Google Books, in chapter 9 we have:

"'They're back! It's Bragoon and Saramando! They're back!'"

and a page or two further on we get:

"'I want to get a closer dekko at the bold blinkin' Bragoon and the startlin' Saromando'"

Looks like the author wasn't quite clear on this one, so what chance have we got?

if you google loamhedge characters it explains who is what animal . lol

Many thanks everyone. I was well and truly bamboozled.
I did spell sarabando as it was in the quiz but it looks as though the setter got it wrong.
Cheers
why Richard Cockerill? What has he to do with ABC or early warning system?
