I've recently being doing battle with a bank to set up the security for make my paper account an online one.

In the course of this process I had to provide my DOB on line using a drop down menu. This was fine for day and month, when I go to year the drop down menu started in 1864.

I am impressed that the bank in question has such mature customers and am even more impressed that they are Internet savvy!

Ha ha! I hate that drop down menu Eccles ... Takes forever to get to 1958 ... makes me feel a little old these days! ;0)
You're lucky Elina, I have to scroll down a lot further than that!
Wasn't Saga banking, was it? I believe you have to be 165+to bank with them.
So my date of birth is there then.

I wonder why it goes back that far.

I felt closer to 165 once I had got through the nauseatingly tedious process.

Quite why they start the year of birth at 1864 is a complete mystery........
maybe they think you're a corporate customer, born 1864, still going strong.
I really need to get OH paperless statements so he doesn't see how much I spend :-)
If that had been 1664 it'd be Kronenberg
