I noticed that too TWR Robert Peston has changed delivery of his speech from the staccato to more recently almost drawling out some of his words like an old 75 vinyl running out of power. His hair needs cutting and he is not at tidy as he used to be. I don't think he's found himself since his wife died. Poor man, I think he needs a friend to advise him.

I saw him last night and I nearly didn't recognise him. The long hair doesn't really suit him. He used to look so smart !

Poor chap, he's very obviously still grieving for his wife.

I think he got a lot of criticism for the way he drew his vowels out and is trying to correct that.

Robert, if you do use or observe this site there was no intension to *** you off, all I was saying, I understand you have gone through one hell of a trauma in your life with loosing your wife, but I'm sure she would be the first person to put you in your place should she see you now, I enjoy your output regards your job, but Robert take heed look at yourself, your letting your self down mate.

I actually used to like his 'banter' with Eddie Mair on PM very amusing but I haven't been able to tune in for a few months - so it may have stopped

How is he letting himself down?
He is at work doing the best he can to get on with his life after having it turned inside out. It puzzles me sometimes as to what on this site is and isn't considered crass!

I read somewhere that as well as losing his wife two years ago his house was burgled and sentimental items of her jewellery stolen. On top of all that he suffered a debilitating illness and although it didn't say what it was then maybe that could possibly account for his slurred speech.

How sad. I'm sure he's made of stern stuff and will return to his former glory. I hope some lovely lady makes him happy again.
