I have 6 SP30 (speeding) penalty points on my licence i got 3 of them and a �60 fine on the 28/06/03 are these going to come off my licence on the 28/06/06 or 28/06/07 ??


(My cousin is a street copper and says traffic cops are jobsworthy barstewards who need summit better to do which was nice to hear from a cop)

They last for three years (up to 28/06/06) and don't count after then. But you will only be able to have them removed from your licence once they've been there for more than four years (after 28/06/07).

Skids is quite correct in that they last three years for "totting up" purposes. But you should bear in mind that totting up works on the dates of the offences, not the date of your convictions. This can sometimes make a difference. Also, most insurers take acount of any offences comitted within the previous five years when assessing your premium and you must inform them correctly.
