Question mainly for theists (atheists welcome to comment though) as a study shows that religious folk are prepared to take risks...

Do you take risks as you believe that God will be right behind you?

Evolution is part of it. What do you mean by supernatural?
Khandro, mmmm, enigmatic again.

//Supernatural? not me!//

What do YOU mean by ‘supernatural’?
If our basic cognitive capacities were shaped by natural selection, which I believe they were, - ( shaped, not created) and were only relevant to survival, then they were never under any pressure to deliver the facts about the truth of the universe in which we find ourselves. So it might be that the 'facts' we are establishing (or denying) may not be reliable.
In other words, nothing is supernatural, but it may be incomprehensible.

Now I'm going out to dinner!
Khandro, Gosh! I almost agree with you - I think!

I do hope you enjoyed your dinner.
I don't see that my answers have much to do with materialism, just observing that perceived differences between decision making processes that evolve in beings in nature and designed/created in entities with silicon based calculating processors, are slight and continually reducing. If awareness can emerge from the former's, then there is little reason to disbelieve it will be an emergent quality of the latter too. Whether there is any spiritual aspect in either is a different subject.

Perhaps silicon beings take risks believing that their silicon god, in whose image they are made, is right behind them.
I don't subscribe to any religion, as far as I'm concerned they are all nonsense, but that is just my opinion. everyone is entitled to believe whatever they wish. It's their choice. Taking risks is all part of daily life. It's just the degree of risk that matters. I've taken many risks both in the army and as a civilian. Some more risky than others. It depends on the circumstances.
naomi; You've made my day! :0)

O.G.; Have you read, 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?' by Philip K Dick?
Haha! Always happy to help, Khandro. ;o)
