Another afternoon and evening watching the most wonderful performances from children eight and under to young people in their early twenties.....

Some of the performances were stunning and one eighteen year old lad brought tears to my eyes....that's not easily done....
And the little ones just starting to perform to an audience were a joy....

It's been years since I worked with children and I've started to become a bit coloured by the bad things we read.....this has almost made me want to go back and recapture the pleasure I used to get from the smallest achievement of a child I worked with.....

Almost....but not quite.....I think I enjoy retirement a bit too much....and I'm not keen on this getting up early lark any more....

But I am having the most enjoyable week......☺

Aren't the adverbs the best bit, Tony?..x
Sometimes they are, gness.
In December 1960, shortly after the first episode of Corrie, a newspaper TV critic wrote, "...with it's dreary northern landscape and melancholy theme tune, this programme is doomed to failure. It will be off our screens by Christmas." 55 years later...

I remember that, Jack.....and I think it was the same when Les Mis opened.......x
I blame Ena's hairnet for that newspaper criticism, Jack.
Ena and Elsie were real stars back then.

Right....my internet's playing up and I need to find another posh frock for tomorrow.....and have an early night....

Thanks for the company...and cheeky remarks.....☺
Yeah, and Martha's cat.
G'night, gness.
Anyone remember that scene where they approached each other from opposite ends of the street, slowly, handbags swinging, as a pastiche of High Noon?
Was that Ena and Elsie, Jack ?.
Goodnight Gness
Good old Ena !.

That's not the one I was thinking of. There was one where Ena came out of the pub just as Elsie left her house. They were marching towards each other with the handbags swinging. When they met up there was a furious row but no damage was done.
Was it this one, Jack. The eviction. picture quality isn't very good..
