The main trouble with Russia is that the president,tsar,generalissimo etc have to be strong,powerful and ruthless.The Tsar was useless and ineffectual,hence the revolution,Lenin was basically incompetent letting in Stalin,Kruschev and Malenkov were pushovers and the less said about Yeltsin the better.Russia needs strong presidents like Putin,whether we in the west like it or not.

The last time a Russian leader missed a meeting of the Security Council was Nikita Krushchev : the day before he was 'retired'
