It goes a wee bit gooey inside but as its only in the fat long enough to put a nice crispy coating around the outside, doesn't actually melt all over the show. easy to make at home too if yer feeling adventurous.

I asked in my chipshop how they made them and they said the important thing is that they are frozen solid by the time they go in the batter. They also said that they had many school children coming in saying they'd tried to make them at home and had ruined their mother's deep fat friers, because they hadn't frozen them first
