I have a Vauxhall Astra Estate. I have spotted oil in the paret where the water goes. I have cleaned out the compartment and checked the oil, which smells fine. There is still Oil in the water.

Any tips, please.

is there any water bubble's on your dipstick?

sounds like the head gasket,maybe??

Again, check your oil level on the stick and recheck it a week later, if it rises, water is lying under the oil and your gasket is leeking.

Has your car started having trouble with starting? Water may be leeking into your piston area and constant turning of the starter will eventually dry out the water particles and allow you to fire up.

Do you have water heating problems? Again, this will get worse as time goes on as the gasket deteriorates.
