Enjoyed it here too. I found it odd that I sympathised with the main character, actually gasped out loud when he was found out, as what he did was so wrong.
Heard Sally Lindsay interviewed on Radio 2 and she said that Jason Manford had attended same drama school as her before he turned to stand-up - so you would expect a modicum of acting talent. And, let's face it, that's all it was.
I thought it was excellent and loved it. Jason Manford is a good actor and I'm looking forward to the rest of them. Did anyone notice 'Tina' from Corrie ?
For those who aren't aware of the "construction" of this series....each episode is a self-contained drama featuring one of the staff of the car showroom. There are, however, references to past and future episodes/characters in each episode....so you'll need to watch the whole series to make it all "gel".
There was a fair bit of 'Corrie influence' regarding the actors as the girl Marty had the one night stand with was Liz McDonalds daughter in real life.
I don't usually watch this kind of stuff but it really held my attention. I personally found it leaned more to comedy than drama and think it didn't really know which it was meant to be. I'll certainly watch the next episode.
