For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Try not to have something high in protein or fibre right before a vigorous work out... if your going to eat something like that make sure you have 2 hours to digest .. then you can work out just fine.. Something like a banana (high in complex carbs) is great to have before a workout because of its long lasting evergy.
So a long answer short.. you can have a small portion of carb foods just before a work out .. but you should wait 2 hours if your going to have a meal or a high protein/ fibre snak... I cant even eat Rye bread before a run or I will feel heavy in my tummy... Good luck!!!
