This shouldn't affect the emissions unless the Catalytic Convertor is part of that section of the exhaust.
I used to work in a motor factors, and a lot of parts are interchangeable between models, so as long as it fits with no rattles or knocks, I'd say it's ok
Mdoo98, are you a kwik fit fitter or what, whats with the twenty questions? Yes this is the second time that kwik-fit have fitted the wrong exhaust. I might be female but I ain't stupid and I know my car inside and out, and I have been under the car to check part numbers e.t.c and I have also checked the cat, for which I know when you get bad 02 readings can be caused by faulty lambda sensor! Kwik-fit have agreed to refund me as I have been to buy the correct part and my car is been repaired as we speak, thanks to my faithful RELIABLE mechanic. So sorry mate, Kwik-Fit are sh**. They should carry a government health warning!!
lol, oh my what have i started??? Thank you all for your advice, its been an eye opener to say the least..... Anyway car is home, driving like a dream, and Homer75, engine isnt goosed at all thank god, she purrs like a new motor. Lambda sensor is working, emissions reading normal and finally a middle box thats securely fitted. And yes even though though she has over 140,000 miles on the clock, the Volkswagen workshop said engine is well maintained and in excellent condition. I'm happy!! And as the saying goes, you get what you paid for, so i returned the exhaust got a refund from K-Fit and drove off (without the struggle to pull away).
No seriously, Thank you all for your advice, it hasn't fallen on deaf ears :-)
