Where can I get maps for a planning application? can I use copies of the land registry map? If not where can I get the site and location plan maps (scale 1:1250 and 1:500)


Hope someone can help

You can buy them here from the Ordnance Survey who hold the copyright. Getting them for free is nigh on impossible because of this. Occasionally I have used the 1:1250 from the Land Registry and traced through, and created the 1:500 by enlarging on a photocopier. (I've been having trouble getting links to work on this site recently - type it in manually if necessary)

Alternatively your local authority will provide them for you for a small fee. They have a licence from the Ordnance Survey to provide such maps for planning purposes.
Have you tried the library? You'll probably need to go to the main library, but the local studies Librarian might be able to help you.

HOw big does the enlargement have to be on a photocopier to get 1:50 from 1:1250 - sorry my maths is terrible!
