There was a story in a paper a couple of years back - a man killed the neighbours cat. He said that the cat came to do the toilet in his vegetable patch every day. The guy tried all the usual ways of convincing the cat to use another toilet but he said that the cat would just sit on a high wall and sneer at him.

Whilst I agree that cruelty to animals is wrong I sort of understood how the guy was driven to commit his crime.
