A word of warning, assuming they are greys, don't encourage them anywhere near your house, if you value the house.
Squirrels mostly eat acorns ... they absolutely love black walnuts ... and they're absolutely notorious for stealing birdseed out of birdfeeders ... or if you have nothing else ... throw out some unpopped popcorn.
We could always tempt ours with a cream cracker
the ones i get in my garden always eat the bird nuts, usually breaking the holder in the process, i'm pretty sure you can get food for them at most garden centres.
Our visiting squirrels go first for the caged peanuts but are more than happy to raid all the black sunflower seeds out of the grain mixture we put out on the bird table. If you have any pine nut kernels in your storecupboard they'll eat them too, but it's a pretty expensive way of feeding a squirrel unless it's starving. A muesli mixture might be better than nothing if it's that desperate for food.
