Of course it does. (Been there, done that, more than once). However how long it takes might depend upon which part of the body is affected.

I had cellulitis in my foot and ankle; while the first course of antibiotics brought it under control, it didn't cure it. The second course of antibiotics improved matters further but, once again, the problem still persisted. The third course of antibiotics finally did the trick completely.
All you need to know:

(Click through 'Symptoms', 'Causes', 'Treatment', etc).
You may find useful info here as well. There are links on the page leading to more information.

What a very good question.

Yes it does and i agree with the posts of the boys above and their invaluable links.

However......in certain cases it may never heal.

If the blood supply to a limb is compromised e.g diabetes, atherosclerosis and particularly lymphoedema, then cellulitis may never heal and become chronic.

if you are in a state of impaired immunity e.g some blood disorders having anti-cancer therapy, then your skin infection (cellulitis) may never heal.

Finally depending upon the organism, the disease may never heal, becoming chronic....e.g TB...but that is exceedingly rare.
Cellulitis - that brings back painful memories.
I had had it in the shin area of my leg and ended up in hospital on a drip for 10 days.
That was approx 20 years ago and I'm pleased to say I've had no recurring symptons.
I have been thinking........what an odd question fro someone to ask for the first time on AB.

Is there an ulterior motive or are you worrying about something that you haven't mentioned?
well spotted Sqad - I have been moiling and a-toiling over Fioricet a no-hoping " treatment " for migraine in a nice lady who has had her first episode....

I think we will learn that cellulitis is the puckered tissue around the hips that gurlz get and hate - you know all that - does my bum look big in this ? type of stuff.

and then pauly-wauly will tell us which proprietary preparation he has found is good.

PP..yes, i saw that in the Advert section........couldn't get interested in it and you said all there was to say.
Wasn't sure whether to post, given some of the others. The other type of cellulitis hasn't occurred to me but a few people on here have had it and have contributed to other threads I've posted about having it, if you mean the skin infection version.

Can only contribute from having had it but I've had it a few times, worse the first time from a tick bite on my foot which spread, took a few, and stronger, courses of antibiotics to heal it and spend 48 hours trying to keep my leg over my head, took a while but it did heal up.

I also got it following an insect bite on my legs, spread very quickly but responded very well to antibiotics.

These were quite minor episodes though. Hope if you have it you feel better soon.
