My niece had a Spinal Block Epidural, Monday of last week. It was fir nerve pain in her spine. The next day she started to experience cramp pains in her bum cheek. Then it progressed to her leg on the same side. It is really painful.

She went to GP this morning who said her hips are out of line and to see an Oestopath.

Is there any relief she can get now. I am a bit wary of Oestopaths myself after bad experiences.

TIA

Did the GP refer her to an Osteopath? Get her to call the surgery and ask for a referral, if her hip is out then that is what she needs -an osteopath, not a physio.

Retro, no the GP did not refer her, just said see an Oestopath. The cramp problem only seems to have come on since the Spinal Block Injection. Poor kid is in agony.
hmmm....bit surprised that the GP would just say see an osteopath. IS he a goos gp? If she's in that much agony I would be off to a and e

That's what I said Woolfy. No useless GP. Last week when she phoned the surgery, he said ring a Paramedic.
A and E then and today.
This is not usual following spinal block and providing she has no difficulty with moving her legs or passing water........then it is no big deal.
I would suggest using Ibuprofen at least 400mgms every 6 hours if necessary and monitoring the situation for the next 4 or 5 days.

It is only 10 days since her procedure.
