This was day one of giving Frankie his steroids in pill form instead of the monthly injection.
I bought meat paste and was mega sure that it would work - it didn't
Then I rolled the ball of smelly paste and stuck two dreamies in it. He ate the dreamies and wandered off
Then I rolled it all in catnip - even I was getting high with the stuff. He licked every fekking atom of catnip off the ball of paste and the paper and walking off. The paste and crumbled drug were still there.
Tomorrow I will try something else. If all else fails I will pin him to the bed and ram it down his throat! (Is that actually legal?)

Alex - neither of them like human food. Apart from topside of beef, but I can't see it working. I have a few things to try before either giving in and taking him back to the vet or trying brute force. Alas brute force would only be a on-off as he would suss out what was happening.
I would rather take on a giant snarling dog than any cat.

Wolf - that's a pity about human food. Have you tried
Nature's Menu Cat Treat with Salmon and Trout 60g from Pets at Home ?
These treats are very moist so it's possible to split one, push the pill inside and because they're so moist you can mould the treat. Secret is to give a treat minus tablet first and have the tablet one waiting ! I have had some success with these

Alex - will be at Pets at Home next week so will try them. I might go to Tesco tomorrow and get some Webbox sticks.
If it had been an animal drug it may have been designed with a nice smell or taste. But it is Prednisolone and only half of one tiny tablet. I will win this war!
Pasta - do you let Sally into your room at night or is she banned along with Amber and Caspar?

Hiya wolf...Sally's bed is in my room, but she doesn't always come up with me. She's usually so zonked out on the sofa, she doesn't respond when I call her. She definitely comes up if it's noisey/windy/rainy...she's a wimp in bad weather.;-)
I had to give Caspar tablets last year when he had some teeth out. He was good. Probably felt so much better with the teeth out,he couldnt be bothered to complain. He's a stupid bully boy sometimes, but actually a real softy.
