Mouldy Looking Coins

found a small bag full they have grime and some green mould mostly English a few from USA, how can I clean them ? dont want them shiny just useable, tried Cillit bang for grease and bleach, its shifted some of the grime but not the green mould any suggetions pls

You could try soaking them in coke.
brown sauce .
Soak in coke or brown sauce. Will come up shining.

Anyway - the green colour is more likely verdigris than mould . Try soaking in boiling water or even boiling for a few minutes in a pan then rubbing with something like an ajax pad.
Before you do anything to them, you should ascertain as to whether of not they have any collector's value. Probably not; but, you never know until you look. Once you start "messing" with them, the value is pretty well gone.
My dad was a keen coin collector and he used to say the worst thing anyone could do to a coin is to soak it in coco cola. He always said the best thing to do was to use some nice soapy water and a nail brush, much less harmful to the coin.
Get out the good old HP sauce,it works a treat.
The OP wants the coins to spend not to collect.

thank you all, no they are not valuable its brown sauce &/or coke, on reflection don't think we have any coke cant stand the stuff & its vodka & sprite after sundown for me ! Happy Easter everyone
