help please On advice from jenstar and fo3nix I recently downloaded filezilla
A couple of days ago I inadvertently double clicked the downloaded file (downloaded with freezip) on my desktop resulting on the desktop being scattered all over with the individual files I have deleted these 3 or 4 times now and then emptied my recycle bin but when I switch on the computer they are all back again. The shortcut icon to the programme I have kept and this opens the programme as it should although I have not actually used it
Please someone tell me how to clear these files or do I need to delete the download and start again or will that not resolve it either? Any helpr gratefully received

You've double-clicked the zip file that you downloaded containing filezilla, and it's extracted all the setup files onto your desktop. You've then run setup.exe or whatever it's called from these files to install filezilla, and removed the setup files on your desktop once installed.
Then when you restart, the files are back? This shouldn't be happening, and I'm not sure why it is (it's nothing to do with filezilla). When you remove all the files, do you remove the zip file containing filezilla too? Delete them properly too, not just leaving them in your recycle bin.

thank you for responding fo3nix
Yes all the files unzipped onto the desk top and AT THIS point, I deleted them all from the desktop and then the recycle bin. The only one I did not delete was the shortcut which was working OK. I had installed it but not removed exe file from the desk top which was how I came to double click on that instead of the short cut
This morning I deleted the whole thing via control panel
I then downloaded again ( and deleted from desk top)
(another lesson learned!) I hope this has resolved the problem but have not yet restarted the PC to confirm
( I did not intend to suggest that the fault was withFile zilla itself and am grateful for your patience in endeavouring to help thankyou
