Garden Membrane

Quick question, we have crazing paving in our back garden /yard.. we are pulling this up and putting down slate pieces in place of this. Now i know we need some kind of protection under the slate from the soil. Is Garden Membrane the thing i need to use. (as you can probably tell im not very green fingered)

Any help would be appreciated

Yes garden membrane is what you need, that's what I used when I put down the slate chips.

Don't skimp on quality, buy a good heavy duty one, the cheap ones let light through and you'll have weeds pushing through it.

Robinia speaks the truth! I put down a lot of what turned out to be a cheap product, in my own garden. Lots of lovely weeds now :o(

If you have a good enough slope, I just use heavy duty polythene membrane (used under house floors.) The gradient means that water can't build up or "pond" on the surface.

The name you want is ..Terram .. you can get it on Amazon at a reasonable price. If you get this, you will avoid the cheaper alternatives.
