Yorkshire Village.

Waching Emmerdale the other night ( all my paint had dried) I noticed the latest rich family consisted of an old reformed gay, with his cougar daughter , ac/dc murderer husband and pervy son whose father is yet to appear. Now my question is, are all small villages in the dales like this ?

Oi! How DARE you compare Whitby to Emmerdale? It is much, much worse...and I have never seen any gay goths/fetish goths/transv estites/peop le with 6 fingers on each hand and similar noses etc in ANY soap

baja! baja!....what an interesting question as you bring up a very salient point :
\\\\are all small villages in the dales like this ?\\\
The following is only my opinion derived from many years working in the Dales and the rural parts of Yorkshire.
The Yorkshire men considers the southerners as "Southern Jessies" but believe me, there are more "big girl's blouses" in Yorkshire than you might imagine. The idea of a Yorkshireman as a rugged handsome, no nonsense male depicted by a humourless Geof Boycott who takes 2 days to make a hundred at Lords and then gives his girlfriend a "good going over"...is a total myth.
The Yorkshire villages have their fair share of "gays" "cougars" and even MILFs and the depiction of this in Emmerdale is not far off the truth.
There is a triangle of Whitby, York , Malton and Scarborough which is particularly represented by these interesting traits, as in the winter, snowbound villages, there is nothing else to do.
Just my opinion.

I have been an Emmerdale viewer since the year dot and I'm getting so exasperated at the storylines now. How much more ridiculous can they get? I don't care now if I miss an episode I find myself shouting at the screen (yes really!) In my opinion, too many murders, too many crashes and accidents, too many gay storylines, too much about HIV and rape and where is all the humour? I detest the storyline about Alicia and the pervert lad. It's all depressing, even the children look fed up in every scene. There isn't one storyline I like at the moment.
