I have 3 pigeons that roost in the tree in the back garden - their poo is becoming a problem - (kids and dog in the garden).How can I persued them to go elsewhere nicely.

Sounds like you don't wanr to hurt them, thats nice, One possible way, would be to put a fake Hawk or Owl by the nest, that should do it, Others will probably come up with more suggestions, Good luck.
Some time ago we walked past some flats where the balconies were covered in white bird poo. One flat had a brown plastic owl pinned to top the balcony railings and it was the only unpolluted flat, so maybe there's something in Lonnie's suggestion. Alternatively some old shining cd discs hanging from some of the branches - you know, the kind of freebies that are stuck on the front on magazines that you never have time to view or listen to. If they catch the sunlight as they swing in the breeze that might deter them.
I'd forgotton about cds, WendyS's suggestion is excellent, I used them last year around my cabbages, worked a treat, saved them for this year, thanks for the reminder Wendy.
