I asked this in homes, but only one reply.

The middle slot where I put the softener liquid keeps getting blocked.
I have taken the whole section out a few times and cleaned it thoroughly, but it still gets blocked.

Is it OK to put blocked drainer liquid in it? Thanks.

Above where the drawer sits are some little holes.....these get gunged up. I clean mine in a very technical way as advised by the Bosch engineer... ;-)

Take a plastic parcel tie with ridges and shove it back and forward in the holes.....as far you you can....may take a bit of pushing but works on my machine...x
And I would still not recommend you putting drain unblocking liquid in it.
absolutely not. Drain unblocker usually contains caustic soda which will damage if not destroy any alloy parts such as pumps. Try using a liquid washing detergent..or put it on a hot was cycle with nothing in it to dissolve out the gunge.
My wife also says don't use drain unblocker. It might stain your laundry. She recommends Oust:

although she hasn't had to clean our washing machine in this way.

Thanks folks,

will give gness idea a go first, and if no joy, will buy the cleaning powder.
Not a bad idea to give the cleaners a whirl now and again, Trt.....I use Dr. Beckmann washing machine cleaner every so often....x
Aldi have a very good washing machine cleaner. Works well - having tried others.
Some washing powders are better than others and depending how hard your water is , powders don't always dissolve, so when you've cleaned the machine try liquid or liquid tabs the problem won't be repeated.
washing machine engineer told me to regularly pour a kettle of hot water in machine. As most machines now are cold water fill so everything does not dissolve properly.
