Here was someone who knew how to live it up. Sad end though, as she had been suffering from dementia for years.

She knew how to live it up...briefly.
IMO she wasted the money which could have set her up for life. After the money had gone she went back to living in poverty.
I met her a couple of times in the 1980's. She was a sad figure who had a drink problem and was forever being arrested for fighting and being drunk and disorderly. She was also bitter and twisted about being poor but she only had herself to blame.

She wasn't a legend, more like a greedy sad woman that frittered away all her winnings then relied on the State to keep her.
