Cool Box?

In the dash board of my honda CRV VTEC Sport there is a 'cool box' - the car did not come with a manual - so I have no idea what this is and what for.

Its not that big - does anyone have any ideas?

I've got one in my RAV4. When you turn on the cooler, it diverts cold air from the airconditioning into the space and will keep a drink cold on a hot day.

lol, I have a long car journey coming up with hubby and dog so keeping my chocolate cool will be a godsend!!

The one in my car is the glove box and as woof says it's the air con that makes it cool.

My glove compartment is supposed to be a cool one. Not that I have much use for that but for some reason I did recall it performed this function the other day, when I'd bought a small bag of fancy chocolates for someone's birthday.

Unfortunately my mind is going at my age. I parked outside my house and left the gift safe in the nice cool box, and wondered why they had melted together when I got back to them some hours later on that hot day.

Not very cool :-(
